What is the Personal Growth Monitor?

The Personal Growth Monitor (PG-Monitor) is an instrument to indicate the organic growth of individual employees, teams, departments and / or the entire organization. The instrument provides guidance on how to conduct the OGM conversation, how to measure the development over time and how to record the defined actions.

The PG-Monitor consists of a number of parts that:

  • The structure of discussion on the personal development
  • The instrument, what it is and how it works
  • The conversation, how does this work for manager and employee
  • Support by coaches, for optimal usage of the tooling.

For whom?

  • PG-Monitor to be used for every employee
  • To be used periodically by manager with employee or managers among themselves.

Personal Effectiveness and the Personal Growth Monitor

Insight into the personal development of managers

No matter how big or small your organization is, there is always being invested in management, both through salaries and in the form of personal development. The purpose of this investment is to make management better every day. This remains an investment, in the sense that what is invested by the organization in the managers must yield Return on Investment. It must be clear what the manager - and thus the investment of the organization - adds to the success of the company.

Management is responsible for achieving excellent operational numbers and, just as importantly, for developing a common experience and distinctive organizational DNA within their team. This DNA is what makes the organization unique and is decisive for the right to exist and therefore the continued existence of the organization.

Good management takes time. This time is mainly spent on both challenging and supporting the employees in their growth and development. Both must take place in a professional manner and lead to a working environment where the employee is able to do justice to the full potential of his personal talents and remains permanently employable. More precisely formulated:
the manager is busy challenging and developing his employees to perform better every day and to realize the ambitions of both the organization and the employee himself.

The team then increases its 'organic growth' by constantly getting better at what they do each day. The other side of the manager's task is to relocate employees who do not fully come into their own in their current position or who do not sufficiently agree with the commonly experienced and distinctive organizational DNA. The quality of the manager is reflected in the way this is done: in a charming and elegant way that allows everyone to continue with their heads held high.

Some solutions that the PG-Monitor offers for managers:

  • Frequent insight into the personal development
  • Insight into the development challenges of your managers
  • Insight into the functionality and also dysfunctionality of the managers
  • Clear direction of specific competencies to be developed within your organization to be as effective as possible
  • Insight in how a management development program should look like
  • Conducting a good dialogue
  • Concrete improvement plans that are followed up.

The PG-Monitor does this by ensuring that the development of each individual manager and his or her team is transparent. By making clear what the developments are and what actions are needed to guide them in the desired direction. The PG-Monitor measures during a certain time what the development is and which programs are necessary to generate the maximum development. Both at the level of the team and that of the individual.
